A DAAD Service
Study Guide is an information and guidance platform for prospective international students.
Study Guide services for higher education institutions:
Study Guide brings together all relevant degree programmes offered by German higher education institutions on a single platform for prospective international students. Two data sources are used for this purpose: data from the Higher Education Compass (HSK) of the German Rectors’ Conference (HRK) and information from the DAAD database "International Programmes in Germany" (IP). When prospective students search for degree programmes on Study Guide, they are initially directed to programmes from the IP database. These programmes are mostly taught in English and often offer special support for international students. Alternatively, users can access the HSK database in a second search. This is integrated directly into Study Guide and offers a much more comprehensive list of degree programmes at German higher education institutions. You can find more information on this in the FAQ section "Questions regarding data sources and management on Study Guide".
Prospective students can use the Study Guide contact form to send messages to higher education institutions regarding all degree programmes listed in the HSK – structured by subject area for a more targeted approach. Study Guide sends the message – including name, educational background and preferred degree programme – to the higher education institution’s contact address held in the HSK.
As part of our constant dialogue with German higher education institutions, Study Guide regularly hosts free best practice online seminars, workshops and information sessions in German. Take this opportunity to connect and exchange ideas – register now for one of our upcoming events and join us!
