At Clausthal University of Technology, the research focus "Sustainable Energy Systems" is dedicated to the energy transition, investigating a secure energy supply based on renewable sources. The foundation for this is the degree programme in Sustainable Energy Engineering and Systems, which examines on the one hand thermal energy production – which has been important in the past and will remain so in the future – and on the other hand the new energy system. This is also reflected in research projects that take an interdisciplinary approach to the transition to the new energy system and to new business models. For students, the ties with research and industry result in a degree course with a high degree of practical relevance. In addition, there is a very good student-teacher ratio with a mentoring programme in the initial study phase and close contact with staff.
