Annotation
The Bachelor's degree programme German Studies is anchored in the linguistic and literary studies as well as media and cultural studies focal points of the Institute for German Studies. Based on this, the degree programme provides central key qualifications for a wide range of professional fields in the humanities (e.g. archives, libraries and museums; educational and cultural institutions; information services and new media; journalism and public relations; publishing) as well as solid fundamentals for a subsequent Master’s degree. In addition to a well-founded specialist academic education for the reflective use of German language and literature, practical and project-like forms of work are therefore integrated into the course of study. The professional offer is supplemented by a required work placement/internship. The institute works closely with Gießen Literary Centre, among others.
