Eligibility Check

With an active account, you can use Study Guide Germany to access a non-binding eligibility check of your academic certificates. If you are interested in a Bachelor’s degree, the system can help you determine if your previous qualifications align with general admission requirements to German higher education. This optional check utilises the DAAD admission database, which uses evaluation data of the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs. This data is published in the anabin database of the Central Office for Foreign Education (ZAB). Please note that these results apply exclusively to undergraduate programmes and serve as a preliminary orientation only. Study Guide will help you find appropriate preparatory courses, if they should be required, to enable you to apply to Bachelor’s programmes.

The result of your eligibility check is non-binding. It provides an initial orientation only. This means you can use it to help determine whether you can apply directly for a degree course or whether you first must pass the „Feststellungsprüfung“, the university qualification exam. The results might also indicate that you can only apply for a specific type of higher education institution or for a restricted set of subjects. The eligibility check results should not be interpreted as an admission decision. The final and legally binding decision on admission always lies with the specific higher education institution or authorised bodies.
